1. FinalSpark launches world’s first bioprocessor platform

Swiss biocomputing startup FinalSpark has launched Neuroplatform, an online platform offering remote access to 16 human brain organoids (brain cells) for computing.

Neuroplatform, which claims to be the first of its kind, uses significantly less power than traditional processors.

FinalSpark's system, capable of learning and processing information, integrates hardware, software, and biological components, potentially reducing the environmental impact of computing by orders of magnitude.

2. Microsoft’s Recall feature is under scanner

Microsoft's new AI-powered Recall feature for Copilot Plus PCs, debuting on June 18th, is under the scanner for taking screenshots of your PC frequently and storing them without adequate security measures.

Despite encryption, cybersecurity expert Kevin Beaumont warns that the feature stores data in plain text, making it vulnerable to malware attacks.

Privacy advocates have raised concerns, and the UK Information Commissioner’s Office is making inquiries.

3. Meta’s AI summarises of Facebook comment section get criticised

Meta's AI summaries of Facebook's comments section are under criticism for generating bizarre results and privacy concerns.

Meta is being questioned on its unsolicited use of user data to train its AI systems.

Recent notifications to EU and UK users had informed them of this data use, and while objections to Meta on usage are allowed, the process is complex.

Notably, some requests to opt out have been denied.
